Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for May 21.
Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Muswellbrook, Sandown, Seymour, Sunshine Coast, Strathalbyn and Kalgoorlie.
MUSWELLBROOK: RACE 5 @ 3:20 PM
MON PIERRE (3) gave backers a great sight on debut at Kembla Grange, only to be reeled in over the concluding stages and finish fourth. Sure to have come on from the hit-out and gets the benefit of a better gate and weight relied. Expect him to prove tough to reel in for his rivals. SAMITA (11) improved significantly at the latest when producing a bold performance out in front before fading late. Fitter again. In the mix. Can also interest STORM'S END (13) off her fresh placing.
SELECTIONS: Backing Mon Pierre to win.
As a FREE Racing and Sports offer, below is the Muswellbrook Computer Card.
SANDOWN-LAKESIDE: RACE 3 @ 1:30 PM
FERAGO (2) resumed from a spell at Warrnambool over 1700m and was sound there behind a dominant winner. He ran well in some city races last year over a staying journey and can figure here second up. KHOEKHOE (1) is an enigma but his best form would be highly competitive and drier ground should suit after racing on the heavy at Warrnambool last start. FLASH MARY (7) wasn't far off the mark last start and appears the next in line.
SELECTIONS: Ferago to win.
SEYMOUR: RACE 7 @ 3:55 PM
PENULTIMATE ONE (7) missed a nose on resumption recapturing his best recorded at The Valley late last year. Needs to find cover but fitter he's the one to beat in this line-up. IT'S THERE (3) brings strong form to resumption and owns a 7L Tatura trial win. She will likely the lead and will take plenty of passing with the 2kg claimer aboard. A danger. A BIT RACEY (9) has been racing okay without winning. She can secure a soft run and her best would have her in the finish.
SELECTIONS: Penultimate One appeals most.
SUNSHINE COAST: RACE 7 @ 2:51 PM
O'MISS BEHAVING (11) hasn't been far away since a fresh win in the city and there was plenty to like about the latest effort when she kept chasing for a 1.7L second at Eagle Farm. A similar performance would stack up well in this line up. CHARLIE'S CASE (2) kept coming to finish within 2L of the winner when resuming and will be fitter for that. Tackles a longer journey and that suits as he owns a 50 per cent strike rate at this trip. Proven second up so can challenge. WITHOUT SHAME (18) hasn't been far away in recent outings and usually performs well at this journey. SHINSHINTO (3) was beaten only 1.2 lengths into fourth last start at Ipswich and will be reaching peak fitness.
SELECTIONS: O'Miss Behaving is well placed off strong city form.
STRATHALBYN: RACE 3 @ 1:25 PM
TAYLA'S MOMENT (5) just missed as the favourite last start when finishing second over 1000m and gets the winkers on for the first time today. With four placings from five starts rates as the runner to beat. PULAMBI (11) has the speed needed to overcome drawing the widest barrier. With three placings from four runs this prep rates as one of the leading chances. LADY NELSON (3) resumes fom a spell and will strip fit enough following a recent trial placing. Will receive a soft trip from her inside barrier draw. Well worth an each-way ticket. EXALTED KATE (2) finished sixth over 1200m last start in just her third start. Has solid place claims.
SELECTIONS: Tayla's Moment to win.
KALGOORLIE: RACE 7 @ 4:25 PM
PRINCESS CHUNK (7) is unbeaten in two starts this prep for her new trainer Peter Fernie who has a strong hand in this race. Her last start win off a tough trip was really impressive and in a similar field today she should complete the hat-trick of wins. BOOZEROO (1) is as honest as they come but was no match for the top selection last time out when finishing second. He has a superior draw this time and should again be right in the finish. HIDDEN RUBY (9) was a stylish winner fresh up and now looks likely to live up to her earlier promise. She has been given time to get over that run and won't be in this class for long. DOUBLE RUSH (8) has been close up in all of his four runs this prep and does have winning form on this track. He is still on the up and should not be underestimated. He is a sound first-four chance again. GERARDJOSEPH (2) is making his WA debut after leaving Queensland and after a recent trial, he should be ready to fire fresh up. Watch for him late.
SELECTIONS: Princess Chunk to win.
