Sir Isaac To Bounce Back At Kranji

Sir Isaac looks well placed when he lines up in the Class 3 over 1100m at Kranji today.

Returning with a very nice win in a Kranji Stakes C over 1200m, the Cliff Brown-trained runner then had no luck when sixth behind Bao Shan Magic in a Class C over 1200m last time out.

Settling around midfield throughout on that occasion, Sir Isaac had no luck whatsoever in the straight blocked for a run but still managed to finish only two and a half lengths from the winner.

Despite having won just the two starts from 12 career runs, Sir Isaac has placed a further six occasions and he rates well against his rivals today.

Having solid form in tougher company last campaign, the four-year-old gelding is certainly an improving type who can furnish into a very nice horse this campaign.

Sir Isaac should settle around midfield from the good draw and if he gets even luck in the straight he will prove too good for these based on what he has produced in previous outings.

Third up last campaign, Sir Isaac finished runner up to Countofmontecristo, beaten only half a length which is good form based on what Countofmontecristo has gone on to achieve.

Bao Shan Magic comes out of the same race and continued his good recent form, scoring a second win in a row.

Finding a good spot off the leaders for much of the race, the Mark Walker-trained runner scored a very nice win by just under two lengths from Chalaza with Lim’s Shot third.

Bao Shan Magic, the former NZ galloper ran to a new career and above his previous win in the Class 4, also over 1200m.

Still relatively lightly raced, the five-year-old gelding appears to have more improvement to come and certainly looks a big danger again to Sir Isaac.

Needs a bit of luck from barrier 10 today having drawn well his previous two outings and that could well be the difference in this field.

Dinghu Mountain has been very consistent in recent times without winning races, running third to Lim’s Shot two back before a solid run for fourth in a Benchmark 83 last time out.

This shapes up an easier task today and if he runs up to his recent efforts he will be very competitive once again.

Good luck!
