Lucky Nine came away with barrier two for the feature sprint while fellow Hong Kong raider Sterling City didn't fare so well, drawing widest in the field of ten.

Lucky Nine is now set to challenge Sterling City for favouritism but it may be more than just a race between the two from Hong Kong with local charge Zac Spirit drawn to get every chance to produce from barrier three.

Zac Spirit confirmed himself as the top sprinter in Singapore with his last start success in the Group One Lion City Cup and will be out to complete the double that both Rocket Man and Ato have completed in recent years.

Another defending his crown from last year is Military Attack in the SIA Cup.

John Moore drew barrier ten for the horse that most consider his number-one-seed while "second-stringer" (a more than useful second-seed it must be said) Dan Excel drew the rails.

Likely leader Tokai Halo drew nine and is expected to lead with the likes of Military Attack, Smoking Sun (who drew 11), and Limario (12) set to follow him across from out wide and ensure a genuinely run contest.
