Khoo To Paint A Pretty Picture

Emerging galloper Wonderful Paint couldn't have been more impressive winning last start and appears well placed to bring up the hat-trick at Kranji this evening.

Wonderful Paint Picture: Singapore Turf Club

Due to contest the seventh event, Wonderful Paint chases his fifth win from nine starts and is clearly a 4YO heading the right way.

An impressive winner over 1800m two back, Wonderful Paint again raised the bar last start, when storming home to win comfortably at this course and distance.

Ridden stone cold by leading rider Senari Noh, Battle Paint was close to 10L off the lead at the 800m, before peeling to the outside on straightening.

Making up good ground between the 600m and the 400m, Battle Paint loomed large setting his sights on the Lee Freedman trained Mr Dujardin.

Lengthening stride beautifully, Battle Paint quickly took over inside the 100m, drawing clear to score by three-quarters of a length.

Successful in returning a new career peak, his closing splits were simply electric and place him in good stead this evening.

Always a tough watch with backmarkers, however he still seems able to overcome moderate tempos.

Given seven weeks between runs, Khoo has kept him ticking over with two soft trials, his latest behind the Bruce Marsh trained Holy Grail.

Wonderful Paint takes on a stronger line up tonight and does rise 1.5kg at the weights, but still appears well placed to bring up the hat-trick — he is very promising.

The Lee Freedman trained Sun Marshal gets out beyond a mile for the first time in Singapore and profiles as a sharp improver.

Solid in three runs for his new stable, his prior best form was clearly over the staying trips and he looks to come into this off a good foundation.

With the aid of the claim, he too appears well placed and looms as a major threat.

The Cliff Brown trained Dicton has been knocking on the door in two runs back this time in and has to be respected with Rodd linking back aboard (placed 3/3).

A sectional mark up in both runs this preparation, he is tracking along nicely and should be strong late.

Of the rest, the Lee Freedman trained Mr Dujardin appears the next in line.

Continuing to race well, he shouldn't be far away.

Good luck and happy punting.
