Bold Thruster Set For SAAS Fee Stakes Success

The Shane Baertschiger trained Bold Thruster went down behind Zac Kasa last start, but clearly no knock on that form and he is clearly the one to beat this evening.

Only lightly raced, Bold Thruster has won three of five starts, most recently finishing a close second behind Zac Kasa.

Sent out the well supported favourite ($2.00), Bold Thruster was unable to find the front, forced to settle outside the lead.

Taking over on straightening, Bold Thruster gave a good kick, but Zac Kasa always had him in his sights and quickly took over passing the 200m.

Although clearly headed, Bold Thruster fought back well along the inside and stuck on right to the line, beaten just half a length.

While his winning streak was over, Bold Thruster would have lost no admirers and he notably returned a new career peak in the process.

The clock gave another push for the level of performance and he deserves to be sent out the favourite this evening.

Love the fact he has drawn the rail as it should allow Vorster to find the front/fence as opposed to sitting outside the lead last start.

His performance when allowed to dictate from the front two back was very good and in the small field there isn't likely to be a lot of pressure.

Admittedly they are a few on-pace runners, but none that possess Bold Thruster's early speed.

When assessing Timeform weight adjusted ratings, he holds a clear edge over his rivals and if able to continue his upward spiral, he should take a power of beating.

The Steven Burridge trained Lim's Lightning shapes as the main danger as he aims to notch up his fifth straight win.

Much like Bold Thruster he is very promising and he did win the Group 2 Golden Horseshoe earlier this year.

While improving with each performance, at this point he remains a level below that of Bold Thruster, nonetheless it is still a very good level.

Doubt he can cross Bold Thruster early, but he shouldn't be far away and is sure to make his presence felt in the straight.

In what looks a race in two, the Michael Clements trained Quarter Back and the Cliff Brown trained Mo Almighty appear the next in line.

Good luck and happy punting.
