Richebourg To Continue Upward Spiral

Promising four-year-old Richebourg faces a stiff step up in grade, but appears more than capable of taking that next step in the ninth event at Kranji this evening.

An ultra impressive winner on debut (4.3L), Richebourg stepped up to Class 4 company and did a really good job when saluting as the $1.60 favourite.

Similar to his debut, Richebourg was forced to make a long sustained run when settling in the back half of the field.

While somewhat appearing in trouble, once balanced up he really knuckled down, drawing away to score by close to 2L.

He again recorded good figures and like the fact he has been kept fresh for this (42 days).

Admittedly this is a lot harder, but he has since looked very sharp at the trials and certainly gets his chance down in the weights.

Leading rider Glen Boss legs aboard for the first time and from the awkward draw is likely to settle midfield.

The wide draw should keep him out of trouble and when assessing Timeform weight adjusted ratings, he looks to get every chance.

Not many horses can make the rise from maiden company to a Class 3 event in three starts, but he is more than above average.

He will need a touch of luck in running, but with clear air he should prove hard to hold out.

The Michael Clements trained Yabadabadoo has been rock solid in both starts this time in and now appears set to peak racing third up.

Only lightly raced, he has placed in 5/10 career starts and has placed in 4/5 attempts on the polytrack.

The inside draw suits and if able to hold his form, he looms as a major threat.

The Ricardo Le Grange trained Pennywise won well two back before not disgraced on the turf last start behind Lord Of Cloud.

Unbeaten on the polytrack, he appears much better suited in this event and appears well placed down in the weights.

He looks to receive all the favours from the middle draw and is expected to make his presence felt.

Of the rest the James Peters trained Julius Caesar appears the next in line.

While mixing his form of late, he is more than capable and has to be included in the main chances.

Good luck and happy punting.
