Not surprisingly, Le Cordon Bleu proved a class above his rivals on resuming at Hawkesbury with a last to first victory.
The son of Snitzel was no doubt in dire need of the outing with it his first race start in 565 days and should have taken plenty of benefit from the run.
Le Cordon Bleu won what was an above average Class 1 at Hawkesbury and giving the performance even more merit was the fact he didn’t look entirely comfortable on the rain affected track.
A firm track will greet the four-year-old at Warwick Farm on Wednesday which should suit.
He faces a substantially stronger field than the Class 1 at Hawkesbury however Le Cordon Bleu looks open to further improvement.
The Team Hawkes-trained galloper returned a Timeform rating of 86 on resuming.
This figure came in 14 pounds shy of the master figure of 100 he yielded for a placing on debut at the track.
While he settled back on resuming at Hawkesbury, from barrier 9 jockey James McDonald may send Le Cordon Bleu forward this time around in a race which on paper possesses solid early speed.
Winning claims can be made for a number of runners in the Camelot @ Coolmore No Metro Win event.
Never Fazed was a last start winner at Newcastle.
The gelding showed substantial improvement from his first to second up run and can take another step forward here.
