Sorellina To Dine Out At Canterbury

Punters will be left to toss a coin to in the last race at Canterbury today when unbeaten gallopers Sorrelina and Here De Princess line up in the Canterbury Park handicap over 1200m.

Sorrelina made her debut on New Year's Eve last year, taking out a modest maiden at Gosford over 1100m. Backed in too even - money favourite on track she proved far too good scoring by two-and-a-quarter lengths.

Sent straight to the paddock following her promising victory, O'Shea would prove very patient with her as she was not seen again until August this year.

Stepping up sharply in grade to a BM75 Handicap at Canterbury last start, Sorrelina proceeded to live up to her early expectations leading all the way for a decisive one-and-a-quarter length victory.

Facing a similar field to her win last start, Sorrelina appears well placed despite rising two-kilograms in the weights. The suspension of Glyn Schofield, sees Kiwi whizz kid James McDonald engaged and from the good draw she should be able to roll forward and dictate freely in front.

The combination of Chris Waller and Nash Rawiller look set to provide punters with a simple choice for the quinella with progressive filly Here De Princess. Sent out second favourite behind the Gai Waterhouse trained Kuchinskaya at Wyong last start , Here De Princess proved ultra impressive upstaging the $1.50 favourite by five lengths.

Taking on the older horses for the first time in her short career, the daughter of Dehere has drawn favourably and should be able to settle in nicely off the speed.

After showing a good turn of foot to score last start you can expect that if Sorrelina proves to have any chinks in her armour, Here De Princess will be right there to take full advantage.

The Peter Snowden-trained Coins looks to round out the trifecta when she resumes in this after breaking her maiden status at Warwick Farm back in May.

Snowden has applied winkers for the first time and after her solid trial at Randwick where she finished second behind promising colt Reflectance, expect her to be right in the finish.

Good luck and happy punting.
