Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for November 18.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Goulburn, Armidale, Kyneton and Warwick.
GOULBURN: RACE 8 @ 5:35 PM
RUFF (7) went close at Canberra and followed with a 2.2L defeat in a Highway at Randwick over this distance. Carries more weight but this is much easier. Heywood reunited and will give him every chance from a handy gate. DALIO (13) is up to this at best and despite the tricky gate has to be kept safe. The mile suits and the 1.5kg claim is handy back in grade. DECEMBER SKY (5) has disappointed this prep but has trialled sharply at Warwick Farm since last seen. Collett rides and an improved effort is anticipated. MICKEY'S PRIDE (9) is ex-Neasham and improved last time stepping up to this distance. Fitter and he has figures that would see him very competitive.
SELECTIONS: Backing Ruff.

ARMIDALE: RACE 6 @ 5:20 PM
PARIS LAD (1) four runs back have been encouraging, and the tongue tie and visors go on for this. Gave his all with the 59kg when fourth over 1300m here on November 10. Will appreciate the claim and looks better than these. HOLY MACKEREL (4) shed her maiden status here last time out with a well-deserved victory over 1400m on November 10. In strong stable and Ashley Morgan retains the ride. Sure to be thereabouts again. HYPOTHERMIA (5) finally got off the mark at start 12 with a surprise win over 1410m at Grafton on October 29. Gets a great set up here and can take a hand in the finish. BEAR'S BEST (10) lone win came at this track and drops sharply in weight with the claim today. Held ground to the line when fifth over 1300m at Moree on November 1. Can add value to the exotics.
SELECTIONS: Paris Lad to win.
KYNETON: RACE 1 @ 1:30 PM
SOUTH POLE (7) raced on the speed and did a good job to hold on for third when returning from an 11-month spell over 1400m at Warrnambool last start. Four winners have come from that maiden to add merit to the performance. Strips fitter and will take a power of beating. AMERICAN RUSS (1) was six weeks between runs when midfield over 1300m at Swan Hill recently. Yet to salute in thirty appearances which sounds alarm bells, but with added fitness he is a top three chance. SHE MOGUL (10) was fair on debut at Mornington a fortnight ago and should enjoy this longer journey. KEIROSS KING (3) just missed when resuming at Mildura last start. Tougher this time but worth including in exotics. MEKANIC (4) did nothing on debut but may improve over this trip.
SELECTIONS: South Pole looks far too good for these.
WARWICK: RACE 1 @ 11:57 AM
Tricky race to kick off the card with a few of these facing the starter for the first time. Of the raced brigade HEARTS ARE BETTER (11) went down by a narrow margin in town on debut before being tipped out for time to furnish. Revved up for this with a dominant Doomben trial victory, draws low and gets in well at the weights. Ticks plenty of boxes. MISHANI HITMAN (4) has placed five of nine overall including one over this track and trip. Gets 1.5kg off with the claim and looms as the main danger. HAZ STYLES (1) is at the races for the first time but has shown ability at the trials and any market support from the astute stable must be noted. TARMAC (5) wasn't disgraced when second on debut and will have derived benefit from that race day experience. In the mix. LUCKY MAN (3) strips fitter second-up and may earn some minor money.
SELECTIONS: Hearts Are Better to go one better.
