Stick With Time Odyssey

Team Odyssey takes another step up in grade this evening but still should prove too good when set to contest the eighth event at Singapore.

A revelation since tried beyond 1400m this time in, the son of Jet Master has now won four of his last five starts at a combined margin of over 15 lengths.

The four-year-old gapped his rivals two back and proceeded to take that next step when far too good last time out.

His latest performance saw him return a new career peak and more notably returned time figures ahead of the bare form.

Ridden by Corey Brown, Time Odyssey relished the strong tempo and was home a long way out, drawing away to score by three lengths.

The Group 3 Fortune Bowl [2000m] was listed as a possible target following the event, however Shaw was happy enough to avoid the clash with stable star Quechua.

Under the conditions of the feature event Quechua would only have be allotted 5kg more than Time Odyssey and hence Shaw does look to have pulled the right reign.

Given four weeks between runs Time Odyssey has since trialled nicely in the lead up and looks set to relish the step up in trip.

Leading rider Corey Brown continues his association with the four-year-old and should receive all the favours from the inside draw.

Quite versatile, Brown is expected to tag likely leader Order Of The Sun before making his run in the straight.

Unbeaten in two attempts over this trip, Time Odyssey has also placed in four of nine attempts at this track.

Using Timeform weight adjusted ratings he does have to improve to defeat his more seasoned rivals, however if able to utilise his three length winning margin last start he is more than capable.

Clearly on an upward spiral in recent events, he is expected to keep his winning run intact and bring up the hat-trick.

The Desmond Koh trained Order Of The Sun wasn't disgraced in the Fortune Bowl last start continuing his good run of form.

Ridden aggressively from the outset he rolled along at a fairly strong tempo and as a result was left with little in the tank over the concluding stages.

Nonetheless his performance to only be beaten four lengths behind Quechua leaves him well placed here under the weight conditions with the added bonus of the claim.

No doubt he will look to take up the running from the inside draw and if able to gain a few cheap sectionals he should prove hard to run down.

The Stephen Gray trained Squire Osbaldeston has struggled with consistency but is more than capable on best form and has to be respected.

In 11 attempts at this track he has placed in six and gets his chance right down in the weights.

Of the rest the Laurie Laxon trained Martin appears the next best.

While never in contention in the Fortune Bowl he appears far better placed in this affair and a return to his best would see him right around the mark.

Good luck and happy punting.
