The Newcastle United forward, whose contract runs until 2028, has caught the eye of Arteta due to his consistent performances and ability to provide a clinical edge in front of goal.

Isak, 25, has been pivotal for Newcastle, scoring an impressive 40 goals in 78 appearances since joining from Real Sociedad.

Despite his importance to the Magpies, there appears to be no immediate urgency from the club to renegotiate his long-term contract, leaving an opening for potential suitors.

Arsenal's interest comes as the club looks to reduce its over-reliance on winger Bukayo Saka and address the challenges of deploying Kai Havertz as a makeshift striker.

Arteta has reportedly made his desire to sign Isak clear to the Arsenal board, believing the Swedish international could provide the quality and versatility needed in their attack.

However, a transfer is expected to be complicated. Newcastle are unlikely to part with their star forward easily, and with other top clubs also monitoring Isak's situation, Arsenal face stiff competition.

Despite these challenges, Arteta is determined to explore all possibilities to bring the prolific striker to the Emirates.

While a deal may not be imminent, Arsenal's pursuit of Isak signals their ambition to strengthen their squad as they aim to compete on all fronts.
