Pennywise will be out to remain unbeaten when he lines up in the feature Group 2 Aushorse Golden Horseshoe (1200m) at Kranji on Friday night.
The two-year-old gelding has won very well in both runs to date on the polytrack and he gets on to the turf for the first time in his career today.
Most recent win came over 1100m when getting the better of Autumn Assault after settling on the speed and he has since gone on to win a barrier trial over 1000m earlier in the month.
Nooresh Juglall remains on board and from the wide draw would expect him to roll forward and be positive, although there appears to be plenty of speed in the race so the concern is where he will settle.
Pennywise has certainly been the form two-year-old coming into the Golden Horseshoe and with plenty of natural ability looks very hard to beat in this field today.
Lim’s Lightning was able to follow up a strong debut effort when third with a big win in the Juvenile Stakes over this C/D last time out.
Settling up on the speed, the Steven Burridge-trained runner skipped away to win by four lengths over Makkem Lad and you would expect him to improve again today third up from a spell.
Lim’s Lightning who still looked very green last start from a wide draw will jump from a much better barrier today and likely to get a better run than Pennywise looks the main danger.
Streetwise finished midfield on debut in the Juvenile Stakes before producing a good effort to win the Inglis Ready2Race Stakes over this C/D last time out.
Showed significant improvement second up and from barrier six should find himself in a nice position throughout.
Barend Vorster sticks with the Ricardo Le Grange-trained runner and based on his last start effort would not be surprised to see him in the finish.
Mr Hooper finds himself taking on tougher company on the back of a maiden win earlier in the month.
Looks another that will find himself in a nice position throughout from barrier 5 and you would expect him to make good improvement off his debut effort.
Former New Zealand galloper Boy Next Door is unlikely to get a run, currently an emergency but if he does he showed enough last campaign and in recent trials to suggest he is good enough to win today.
Good luck!
