Walker Runner To Show Power At Kranji

Elite Power was terrific in his Singapore debut last start and looks very well placed again when he lines up in the Class 3 over 1100m on the Polytrack at Kranji today.

The former UK winner who recently joined the Mark Walker stable produced a terrific effort to finish runner up in a Class 4 last time out behind the handy Be Bee and that form reads well for this.

With three wins from his 11 starts in the UK, including four placings, Elite Power also scored a Listed win as a two-year-old at Redcar over 1207m and expect him to prove too good for his rivals today.

The four-year-old gelding rates well against these not only on his last start effort which also came on the Polytrack but his previous form in the UK and if he can run up to anything near that he will be winning this.

Should find a nice spot on speed again from the good draw with Glen Boss on board and despite being a pre race scratching due to lameness earlier in the month he should be ready to fire today.

The drop back to 1100m should not pose any dramas for the son of Sakhee’s Secret and he certainly looks among one of the better chances of the day.

Melting Point was good in very tough conditions last time out over 1200m on the turf, leading throughout before Xiong Fong got the better of him over the final 250m.

Goes back on the Polytrack today and also drops to the 1100m where he ran a solid third to Deimos last year after settling back in the field.

Not seen since late November of last year, Melting Point has since won a trial over 1000m in preparation for today and has certainly shown enough since coming to Singapore that he is not far away from a win.

Prior form in Australia was solid winning at both Ascot and Bunbury over further but he is more than capable of a strong showing over the shorter trip today.

Silkino continues to race consistently well since the addition of blinkers late last year.

From six runs since that time, Silkino has featured in the money on five occasions which includes a Class 4 win, running a handy fourth on the other occasion.

Expect the David Hill-trained runner to not be far away in the run from the wide draw and he will take plenty of running down.

Not beaten far when third over 1000m on the Polytack in a Class 3 last time out and if he runs up to that form again he will be right in the finish against these.

Both previous wins have come over the 1100m trip which he tackles today and Barend Vorster maintains the ride.

Alamosa Express is another to keep an eye on following a solid Singapore debut when fourth in the same race as Silkino last time out.

That effort came off some very strong form in New Zealand where he won two of his three outings, placing on the other occasion and with the run under his belt now is more than capable of running into the finish again.

Good luck!
