Filibuster Out To Remain Unbeaten At Kranji

Filibuster will look to build on her strong debut win when she lines up in the Class 4 over 1100m on the Polytrack at Kranji on Friday night.

The three-year-old filly stepped out with a terrific first up win in the Restricted Maiden over 1100m on the Polytrack and remains over the same trip today with added fitness.

Off strong trial form, the Cliff Brown-trained runner was taken straight to the lead by Manoel Nunes and never looked like getting beat, running out a three and a half length winner over Destroyer Eclipse.

Filibuster returned a strong debut rating of 80p which is very good and she is capable of improvement off that run.

Nunes remains on board today and from the inside draw would expect her to push forward again and control the race with not a great deal of speed in the race.

Filibuster does have a fair bit of weight (55.5kg) and is the only three-year-old in the race but there was plenty to like about her debut effort and she can certainly go on with it now.

Sunny Sky will return from a spell having shown good ability in his short career to date in Australia.

The four-year-old gelding was last seen when winning in a small field at Gosford and was solid in a recent barrier trial over 1000m here in Kranji.

Not tried on the polytrack publicly which is a slight concern however his Australian form puts him squarely in the mix today for the Desmond Koh stable.

Generally pushed forward to settle on the speed in his previous races and from barrier 2 should follow Filibuster into the race you would expect.

Shaqraa picked up the second win of his career with a strong effort over 1000m in a Class 4 on the Polytrack last start.

Likely to find this a tougher task today but form for the most part has been pretty good in recent times and does his best racing on the Polytrack.

Likely to get back in the run and will need the speed to be on up front and if he gets it he will be getting to the line strongly.

Nova Ranger rounds out the main chances on the back of a last start win in a class 5 over this trip.

Finished third in the run prior to that and appears to have hit some decent form of late but will need to improve again to be winning this.

Down in the weights with just 50kg and would not be surprised to see him make his way into the finish.

Halo Bright has also been racing better than recent form suggests and if he can run up to his best form also stays under notice but hard to go against the very impressive Filibuster today.

Good Luck!
