The Eclipse Awards ceremony was held in Los Angeles on Monday night and it was not really a big surprise to see Havre de Grace get the top gong.

Going through the other awards, the 2yo Male went to Hansen and the Female My Miss Aurelia.

The 3yo Male was a bit of a surprise as most seemed to have favoured Caleb's Posse but it went narrowly to Animal Kingdom by a vote of 114 to 111. No competition really for Royal Delta in the female category. Male Turf went to Cape Blanco and Female Stacelita

The Male Sprinter went to Amazombie and the Female Musical Romance.

The Trainer's award went to Bill Mott, the Jockey's to Ramon Dominguez and the Owner's to Sarah and Ken Ramsay.

During the afternoon there was a complete upset in the San Gabriel when Norvsky surprised everyone including his connections when he moved up on the turn and got home better than either odds-on favourite Jeranimo and third placed The Usual QT.
