Following victories in the Pretty Polly Stakes at the Curragh and the Prix Vermeille over the Arc's course and distance last-time-out, Bluestocking will now have the opportunity to add a third top-level success to her 2024 CV after connections stumped up the €120,000 fee to add her to Europe's showpiece middle-distance contest on Wednesday morning.

Having filled the runner-up spot with Westover twelve months ago, trainer Ralph Beckett and owners Juddmonte will be hoping Bluestocking can go one spot better this time as she bids to give the famous green and pink silks a seventh success in the Arc. The colours have also been carried to victory by Dancing Brave, Workforce and most recently Enable.

The daughter of Camelot, who is a general 10/1 chance with most bookmakers, also finished runner-up to the French-trained Goliath in the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes earlier this season. Sosie and Look De Vega both head the market at 9/2.

Paddy Power spokesman Paul Binfield said: "Fillies and mares have won a remarkable eight of the last 13 renewals of the Arc and the supplemented Bluestocking's victory in the Prix Vermeille over course and distance might well make her attractive to punters, especially at a double-figure price."

Eighteen horses remain in the mix for the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe on Sunday with Opera Singer the only horse to be removed. The Aidan O'Brien-trained filly was also taken out of the Prix de l'Opera.
