Julius Caesar To Build On Winning Form At Kranji

Julius Caesar will look to build on his last start win when lining up in the Class 4 over 1400m at Kranji on Sunday.

Only lightly raced, Julius Caesar raced in good order last preparation having broken his maiden at his second start in Singapore, before not beaten far behind Whose Else’s prior to a spell.

Formerly based in Australia with Team Snowden, Julius Caesar displayed good ability in his four starts before transferred to Singapore in September last year.

Brought along slowly by new trainer James Peters, Julius Caesar finished a narrow second in his Singapore debut, before winning easily at his next outing.

While failing to salute as favourite at his next start, his performance still held merit and he easily justified his favouritism ($2.00 SP) last start.

Ridden by Vlad Duric, Julius Caesar began well to settle second with the Saimee trained Trigamy taking up the running.

Popped off the fence to make a line of three passing the 700m, Julius Caesar travelled boldly and quickly took over on straightening.

Displaying a good turn of foot, Julius Caesar quickly drew of his rivals, racing away to score by four-and-a-half lengths.

Although clearly lacking opposition, it was hard not to be impressed by his performance and more wins certainly appear in store.

Based on his prior form in Australia, Julius Caesar still has a fair bit of room to be move and given his decisive winning margin, Peters' looks to have a very promising type.

This looks a very good task for him again today and despite the wide draw he certainly appears hard to go past.

The blinkers have certainly done the trick for Lim’s Shot with two good wins since, the most recent over Splinter in a Kranji Stakes C (1200m).

The Laurie Laxon-trained runner stays over the 1200m trip where all four previous wins have come and from the good draw is likely to roll forward and take up the lead again.

His recent figures certainly put him right in the mix for a race like this today and third with fitness on his side expecting him to run well.

Former Australian galloper Super Fortune remains undefeated from two runs in Singapore, the most recent over Caorunn in a Class 3 over 1200m.

Previous form in Australia suggests he still has more to come and despite going up in grade today he can run well on what he has produced.

Will look to find some cover off the pace from barrier eight and with even luck will be very competitive again today.

Biraz also shapes up as an each way chance on the back of a solid trial win and a second placing on his Singapore debut.

The five-year-old gelding finished off pretty well on that occasion and with the recent trial also under his belt can make his presence felt today.

Good Luck!
