The Shane Baertschiger trained Bold Thruster went to the paddock in top form and appears well placed to make a winning return at Kranji this evening.
Due to contest the seventh event, the Singapore 3YO Sprint [1200m], Bold Thruster is out to confirm his place at the top of the three-year-old tree.
On that occasion he finished a close second and certainly lost no admirers.
Last seen in the Group 3 SAAS Fee Stakes [1200m], Bold Thruster gave his rivals a galloping lesson, scoring easily by 1.8L.Ridden by Barend Vorster, he always appeared in firm control and returned a new career peak in the process.
Given two trials in the lead up, Bold Thruster had the blinkers on at his second hit-out coasting to the line to score by 1.75L.Stopping the clock at 59.37 seconds, he is clearly airborne and appears in fine fettle for his much awaited return.
Love the fact he has drawn the rail as it should allow Powell to find the front/fence as doubt anyone else will want to try and go with him early. When allowed to dictate he is very potent and all things being equal he should just have too much in the locker.
If able to continue his progression, a Group 1 success is certainly on the horizon.
The Michael Clements trained Siam Vipasiri returned in good order last start and with further improvement expected, she shapes as the main danger.A winner of three of her six starts, she too is progressive and has drawn to get a lovely run for regular rider Glen Boss.
Whether she can match it with Bold Thruster is the big query, but she still holds solid claims. The Steven Burridge trained Lim's Lightning failed to fire a shot first up, but is clearly better than that and is worth another chance.
A winner of four of his seven starts, he rates well on best form and has since trialled well in the lead up.The awkward draw is a query, but he still has to be included.
Of the rest, last start winner Top Knight appears the next in line.Good luck and happy punting.
