Siam Sapphire To Shine Bright

The James Peters trained Siam Sapphire really caught the eye first up and should prove very hard to beat in the final event at Singapore this evening.

Only lightly raced Siam Sapphire has displayed good ability placing in five of his nine starts.

Although possessing just the sole win to his name, he appears well placed on best form and certainly gets his chance from the inside draw.

Settled at the rear first up, Siam Sapphire really impressed in the run home, surging to the line to finish third behind the Ricardo Le Grange trained Barnato.

Admittedly he was safely held (2L), however give the unfavourable race shape his performance held plenty of merit.

Siam Sapphire has placed in all four attempts on the polytrack and appears well placed down in the weights with Vorster sticking aboard.

When assessing Timeform weight adjusted ratings he holds a distinct edge and if up to his best, he looks to set a decent standard.

Overall Vorster strikes at 21% when combined with the Peters' stable - a positive trend which looks set to continue this evening.

Quite adaptable, wouldn't be surprised to see Vorster more positive this evening.

When breaking through for his maiden win last year, Siam Sapphire settled third and was positioned second on the turn — on that occasion he beat home the progressive Darc Bounty.

The start is likely to be very important and if able to begin better and settle a lot closer, Siam Sapphire should prove very hard to beat.

The Michael Clements trained Knight Judge is yet to break through in five starts in Singapore, but is certainly more than capable and with Rodd sticking aboard, he has to be respected.

Formerly trained in Australia under the care of Robert Smerdon, Knight Judge won on debut at Ballarat before transferred to Singapore.

Although very costly to punters in five starts (beaten favourite on four occasions), Knight Judge has not been disgraced and is certainly more than capable.

From the inside draw he looks to receive all the favours and is sure to make his presence felt.

The Dan Meagher trained Soonbaby impressed when saluting on debut at this track over 1000m and remains under strong notice.

Proving too strong on-speed over 1000m, Soonbaby has since trialled well and with Beasley sticking aboard, he cannot be taken lightly.

Of the rest the Stephen Burridge trained Lim's Elusive appears the next best.

While possessing just the two wins to his name from 23 starts, he has placed on a further nine occasions and is rarely far away.

He returned to form last start behind Bandido and has to be kept safe with Glen Boss sticking aboard.

Good luck and happy punting.
