Darshini To Go Back To Back

Former UK based galloper Darshini broke through for his first win in Singapore last start and appears well placed to go on with the job this evening.

Due to contest the seventh event, Darshini drops back slightly in trip, but it's hard to see him taking a backwards step racing fourth up.

Formerly trained by Sire Michael Stoute, Darshini displayed good ability in his 13 starts and is certainly more than capable.

Unsuited over the shorter journeys at his first two starts, Darshini clearly relished the step up in trip last start when too strong for his rivals over 1800m.

Ridden by Manoel Nunes, Darshini really impressed late and certainly appears on track for his new stable.

On best form he has a fair bit up his sleeve and is already a winner over the mile.

Leading rider Manoel Nunes sticks aboard and while likely to get back from the wide draw, he should prove hard to hold out.

The Desmond Koh trained Sun Hoplites really impressed in his Singapore debut and appears more than capable of taking that next step.

Formerly trained by Stephen Brown in Australia [Old Name: Hoplites], Sun Hoplites won two of his 12 starts including three minor placings.

On best form he is certainly a capable type and remains open to good improvement racing second up.

In four attempts at the mile, he has placed in three and should be able to find the front fairly comfortable under CC Wong.

When assessing Timeform weight adjusted ratings, he appears well placed on best form and shapes as one of the main contenders.

The Laurie Laxon trained Mr Scorsese won well two back over 1200m, before confirming that level of performance when finishing a close fourth last start.

Sticking on solidly behind Sun Hoplites, Mr Scorsese has always shown plenty of promise and while mixing his form, he is certainly capable.

Two of his three wins have come at this track and while a bit of a query at the mile, he gives the impression he will appreciate the extra trip.

From the inside draw he shouldn't be too far away and shapes as one of the hardest to beat.

Of the rest the Ricardo Le Grange trained The Capitalappears the next in line.

Only narrowly edged out last start, The Capital is building nicely this preparation and has placed in both previous attempts over the mile.

The in-form Nooresh Juglall links aboard and he has to be kept safe from the favourable draw.
