Although failing to feature in the finish of the Merlion Trophy, the Shane Baertschiger trained Lincoln Road appears well placed to return to the winner's stall in the fifth event this evening.
A winner of five of his 13 starts in Singapore, Lincoln Road has displayed plenty of ability and now finds himself in a very suitable race.
Given 33 days between runs, Lincoln Road found the line nicely in a recent barrier trial, given a quiet time behind Sebas.
Carrying 68kg on that occasion, Lincoln Road was safely held, however he was never extended under John Powell. The drop back to 1100m also looks to aid his chances, winning four of five attempts.
Lincoln Road has also placed in seven of eight attempts on the polytrack, including all five of his career wins. From the middle draw he looks to get a lovely run in transit under new rider Vlad Duric and is sure to make his presence felt.
When assessing Timeform weight adjusted ratings, he appears well placed on best form and should be right at his peak racing fourth up.Likely to stalk the speed, Lincoln Road should prove very hard to hold out.
Olympic Anthem has won five of eight attempts over this trip and has placed in 10 of 13 attempts on the polytrack.
The much in-form Michael Rodd appears a key booking, having placed in six of seven attempts aboard the 6YO, four of which were wins.Olympic Anthem has also won four of seven first up attempts and with the speed on upfront he should be charging home late.
Three-year-old Nova Swiss was very disappointing last start, but is worth another chance.Only narrowly beaten in the Group 2 Merlion Trophy [1200m] two back, Nova Swiss failed to fire a shot in the Singapore 3YO Sprint, finishing sixth behind Countofmontecristo.
Marked well below his best on that occasion, Nova Swiss is clearly capable of better, though it is always hard to be confident with a horse who underperforms at their start prior with no apparent abnormality.Nonetheless, at his best he is certainly capable and the re-engagement of Manoel Nunes is also worth noting (won 5/5).
Nova Swiss should be prominent from the outset and obviously has to be kept safe.Of the rest the Desmond Koh trained Sun Pioneer appears the next in line following his solid performance first up behind Cavallo.
A winner of six of his 22 starts, Sun Pioneer has also placed on a further 10 occasions including eight of 11 attempts over this trip. From the rails draw he shouldn't be too far away and cannot be taken lightly.
Good luck and happy punting.
