Talented sprinter My Lucky Strike was handed just his second defeat in Singapore last start, but now appears poised to return to the winner's stall in the ninth event this evening.

Although unable to match it with Super Winner in the Korea Racing Authority Trophy, My Lucky Strike still lost no admirers when sticking on strongly to finish second.

Marked below his best on that occasion, My Lucky Strike appears better suited dropping back to 1000m — unbeaten in five attempts at Singapore.

In both attempts over 1000m this preparation My Lucky Strike has notably broke 58 seconds, marked marginally outside standard on both occasions.

Successful in recording a new career peak two back, My Lucky Strike has clearly taken that next step and a repeat of that level of performance sees him very well placed in this event.

On average My Lucky Strike has improved more than five pounds at each start in Singapore and remains one of the more promising sprinters in the country.

Using Timeform weight adjusted ratings, My Lucky Strike holds a distinct edge and while on the relatively quick back up, (12 days) he should have little concerns.

Leading rider Manoel Nunes sticks aboard, having won three of five attempts and is currently striking at 20 per cent with the Mark Walker stable.

From the outside draw he will no doubt have to do a bit of work if looking to lead, however Nunes is likely to settle him just off the speed.

Got Luck, Bellwether and Petrenui are all capable of pressing for the lead, with the early stages expected to be hotly contested.

When defeating some of Singapore's leading sprinters two back My Lucky Strike stamped himself as a real 1000m specialist and if right, it will take a very good performance to deny him victory.

Stablemate Kam's Comet is another galloper clearly heading in the right direction and while a lot tougher here, he appears capable of rising to the occasion.

A winner of four of his five starts, the son of Danroad has returned in great order this time in and is unbeaten in three attempts on the polytrack.

The drop back to a 1000m off only a 14 day break is of some query however he is already a winner over this trip, with his only defeat to date coming at the hands of the talented A La Victory.

While he clearly lacks the class of his talented stablemate he possesses plenty of upside and given his level of progression in recent efforts, he cannot be taken lightly.

From the inside draw Kam's Comet is likely to camp just off the speed and should prove hard to hold out late in the piece.

The Alvin Tan trained Got Luck returned in good order two back, before disappointing behind Raise No Doubt last start.

One of the well supported runners on that occasion Got Luck failed to come into contention, however the form does appear strong moving forward.

Got Luck is unbeaten racing third up and has placed in nine of 12 attempts on the polytrack.

In seven attempts over 1000m, he has placed in six with his last start effort the only time he has failed to fill the frame.

Drawn to receive all the favours on the inside, he is expected to return to form and if able to produce his best, he should make his presence felt.

Of the rest the Michael Freedman trained Bellwether continued to make good improvement last preparation and is a big watch fresh in this affair.

A winner of four of his eight attempts on the polytrack, Bellwether isn't renowned for producing his best first up, however his latest trial suggests he is right on track.

Leading rider Corey Brown continues his association with the five-year-old having placed in eight of nine attempts.

In fine form at present, Brown is notably striking at 23 per cent with the Freedman camp and has won seven of his last 25 rides.

Likely to be right up on the speed from the middle draw, Bellwether should be in this for a long way.
