Snitzel Has The Spirit

Promising sprinter Snitzel Spirit appears open to sharp improvement racing second up and should prove hard to beat in the tenth event at Kranji this evening.

Having returned in solid order behind Black Fiery last start, the son of Snitzel appears well placed and is unbeaten racing second up.

Yet to miss the money in six career starts, Snitzel Spirit continued to raise the bar last preparation and is expected to relish the slight step up in trip.

His current career peak was achieved over 1400m, which further pushes the notion he will be better over further.

Leading rider Manoel Nunes links back aboard this evening, which is a great push for his chances.

In three previous attempts, Nunes has won two, with his only blemish coming on debut, when narrowly beaten as favourite.

Nunes currently strikes at just shy of 20% for the Freedman stable and is enjoying a great run of form this season.

From the inside draw, Snitzel Spirit is expected to settle just off the speed and is likely to track the early leaders.

In what is easily the best race of the evening - on best form Snitzel Spirit appears well placed using Timeform weight adjusted ratings, and should prove hard to beat.

Although some query dropping back in trip, the Laurie Laxon trained Ideal Guide looms as a major threat.

Below his best first up, the son of Red Ransom should display good improvement this evening and rates well on best form.

In his first preparation for Laurie Laxon, Ideal Guide brought up three straight victories, before thrown in the deep end in the Group 1 Singapore Gold Cup.

Though safely held, Ideal Guide was still marked as a galloper to follow, as he appears capable of continuing his rise through the grades.

On his best form in Australia, Ideal Guide is open to further improvement and should enjoy a good run in transit, from the inside draw.

In-form jockey Michael Rodd links aboard for the first time and he must be respected.

The Shane Baertschiger trained Mycaptainoblivious wasn’t disgraced in tougher company last start and appears the next in line.

Finishing fourth behind Darci Charmer, Mycaptainoblivious wasn’t beaten all that far and will appreciate the lesser pressure of this event.

Although allotted the topweight, he is well placed in this event on best form and is expected to give plenty of cheek from the middle draw.

Of the rest the Steve Burridge trained Lika Tiger appears the next in line, dropping back in trip.

While unable to feature in the finish at his last two starts, both attempts where against tougher company and he appears well placed in this affair.

The form through Kiwi Karma and Aspen obviously reads well here and with Craig Newitt aboard, he cannot be taken lightly.

Good luck and happy punting.
