Trust In Jimmy Rea

Progressive galloper Jimmy Rea appears poised to take that next step, when set to contest the final event at Singapore, this evening.

Stepping out for just his fourth career start, the son of Thewayyouare more than lived up to the hype, when coming from near the tail to notch up back to back wins last start.

A notable fifth placing behind the talented My Lucky Strike on debut, Jimmy Rea went on to dominate his rivals at his next start, before again raising the bar at his latest effort.

Ridden by leading rider Manoel Nunes, Jimmy Rea was one of the worst into stride, forced to settle at the tail of the field.

Race leader Hermano Menor was given all the favours in-front, recording 36.37 seconds for the first 600m.

The latter has since gone on to prove most impressive, when saluting easily last Friday.

Behind a wall of horses on straightening, Jimmy Rea forced his way into the clear — hitting the line powerfully down the centre of the track.

Hermano Menor stuck on well, but was clearly no match, after being headed by Jimmy Rea inside the 200m.

Improving five pounds on his maiden victory, Jimmy Rea recorded time ahead of the bare form, indicating he is a galloper clearly heading in the right direction.

Comparatively he recorded easily the fastest time of the evening, marked four lengths quicker than his rivals.

Jimmy Rea averaged 11 second 200m sections for the last 800m and recorded a slick 21.40 for his final 400m.

Though rising significantly at the weights for this Class 4 event, Jimmy Rea still appears well placed using Timeform weight adjusted ratings.

On his last start performance he rates clear of his rivals and is expected to raise the bar again this evening.

From the wide draw, Nunes is likely to ride Jimmy Rea patiently, as his best form has been achieved when adopting this racing pattern.

Jimmy Rea was earmarked as one of the more promising three-year-olds in Singapore following his last start victory, and is expected to bring up the hat-trick this evening.

The Patrick Shaw trained Barnato appears the main danger, dropping back to a more suitable trip.

Having attempted to lead throughout last start, the son of Redoute's Choice wasn't beaten all that far, after only fading out of contention in the final 200m.

Barnato's performance still held plenty of merit and he does rate well in this line up on best form.

Nooresh Juglall links back aboard (placed 2/3 attempts) and is likely to roll forward from the wide draw.

Unseen for close to four weeks, Barnato has trialled nicely in the lead up and is expected to make his presence felt.

Former Argentian based galloper Ode To Joy remains a big watch in this affair, when he steps out on debut for the Michael Clements stable.

A two time winner, the son of Orpen has trialled very well in the lead up and does measure right up on his best form.

While arguably better over further, he remains under strong notice and must be kept safe.

Of the rest the Leslie Khoo trained Sing Roulette appears the next best, following his return to form behind Rosado last start.

Successful in recording a new career peak, the son of Ruwi is also expected to roll forward from the wide draw and should give plenty of cheek out in front.

Good luck and happy punting.
