No Doubt With Dragon's Speedster

The Leticia Dragon trained Raise No Doubt appears well placed to make a winning return at Singapore, when set to contest the ninth event this evening.

A winner of three of his six starts in Singapore, the son of Not A Single Doubt burst onto the scenes with three straight wins, before only beaten narrowly at his fourth start.

He finished unplaced at his last two starts, however his effort in the Group 3 Woodlands Handicap held plenty of merit, finishing three lengths astern of El Padrino.

On that occasion he simply did too much work early, and was entitled to fade in the straight.

Unseen since September last year, Raise No Doubt was given a solid hit out at the trials, when saluting by seven lengths in slick time.

Leading throughout under John Powell, the four-year-old appears in good order, when coasting to the line under his own steam.

Lining up over the 1000m journey looks an ideal trip first up, with Raise No Doubt drawing favourably on the inside.

Noted speedster Bellwether is likely to take up the running, with Raise No Doubt settling second.

The Theo Kieser trained Honest Truth should also press forward, though is unlikely to cross from the wide draw.

Under the set weights conditions of the race, Raise No Doubt is well placed using Timeform weight adjusted ratings.

On best form he is rated clear of his main rivals and is a noted flier first up.

Given the speed he displayed in his recent trial, John Powell could lead, however Raise No Doubt best form has been achieved, when allowed to travel comfortably just off the speed.

While he was disappointing on paper at his last few outings, Raise No Doubt is definitely capable and is likely to improve further, in what is just his third preparation.

If able to bring his best form, Raise No Doubt should prove very hard to beat.

The Michael Freedman trained Bellwether mixed his form last preparation, however he is definitely capable when right.

A winner of two of his seven starts in Singapore, the son of Bel Esprit notably won both over the 1000m journey.

The main query this evening is whether he can perform well fresh, as he three previous first up attempts have seen him unplaced.

Nonetheless under the conditions of the race, he is another who is well placed and cannot be taken lightly.

Leading rider Corey Brown sticks aboard and notably was aboard Bellwether for his two victories.

If allowed to get a few cheap sectionals, he should prove very hard to run down in the straight.

Of the rest Honest Truth appears the next best, returning from a 296 day break.

His two performances last preparation were very good and he has won fresh previously — placed three of nine.

Honest Truth has placed in nine of 25 starts on the polytrack and has placed in 10 of 23 attempts over this trip.

Though drawn a touch awkwardly, he is likely to roll forward and be right around the mark.

The David Kok trained California Eagle rounds out the selections, as while disappointing in his latest performance he is another who is capable on best form.

The biggest push for California Eagle is the engagement of Manoel Nunes.

In what is his first ride aboard the five-year-old, Nunes is currently striking at 33% for the Kok stable and hence he must be included.

Good luck and happy punting.
