These Streets Poised To Go Back-To-Back

A dominant display last start leaves the Cliff Brown trained These Streets poised to notch up back-to-back victories at Singapore this evening.

Reunited with star jockey Joao Moreira, These Streets toyed with his rivals, when saluting comfortably by five lengths.

Taking full advantage of the drop back in grade, the son of Elusive City always travelled strongly over the 1200m journey.

Displaying a sharp turn of foot, These Streets went to a new level, when he brought up his second victory in Singapore.

Formerly based in Queensland under the care of Liam Birchley, These Streets came to Singapore with some handy form in the book.

These Streets placed in all five starts for Birchley, including a dominant maiden victory at Eagle Farm.

Joining Brown’s team in April, the now five-year-old has raced in good order, with his latest effort surpassing his previous best achieved in Australia.

These Streets improved four pounds and recorded a closing sectional more than four lengths inside standard.

The step up to 1400m reads well for his chances, placing in five of six previous attempts.

Leading rider Corey Brown links aboard for the first time and is currently striking at 17 per cent for the Cliff Brown stable.

Corey Brown has been riding in great form at present as he continues to make the trip back and forth from Singapore to Australia, during Sydney’s Spring Carnival.

Brown brought up his first stakes winner of the Sydney Spring Carnival, when steering home the Joe Pride trained Terravista in the Group 2 The Shorts.

While only a small field, there does appear to be good speed engaged.

The Shane Baertschiger trained One Smart Cat, the Michael Freedman trained Chinese Culture and the Bruce Marsh trained Cool Customer are all expected to roll forward.

Drawn a touch awkwardly, Brown is likely to adopt a position just off the speed aboard These Streets.

Judging by the dominance of his last start win, These Streets is expected to improve a further four pounds for this event.

Using Timeform predictive ratings, These Streets rates clear and should prove hard to hold out.

The Michael Clements trained Zedkaar returned in good order last start and shapes as one of the leading contenders.

Dropping back from 1800m, the son Ekraar proved game in defeat when only edged out narrowly over the concluding stages.

In a race, which was clearly run to suit the front-runners, Zedkaar’s performance held plenty of merit and reads well for his chances this evening.

Lisa Allpress sticks aboard and should look to settle Zedkaar just off the speed from the good draw.

Zedkaar is unbeaten at his only prior attempt over 1400m and while an unusual preparation, his best form sees him rate well.

The Bruce Marsh trained Taffetas has returned in great order this time in and chases a hat-trick of wins.

An easy victor over 1200m last start, the son of Elusive Quality now steps out to an untried trip in Singapore.

Taffetas had placed over 1400m in Malaysia, however not in a race of this depth.

In-form jockey David Flores replaces the suspended Manoel Nunes and is currently striking at 17 per cent for the Bruce Marsh stable.

From the good draw she is expected to roll forward and settle up on the speed.

Though some query at the trip she rates well and cannot be taken lightly.

Chinese Culture has not been far away in recent efforts and appears the next in line.

His last start performance behind Absolutely held plenty of merit and does see him well placed in this event.

Chinese Culture has placed in eight of 13 attempts over this trip and has placed in 16 of 27 attempts at this track.

Though he may not possess the upside of a few of his rivals, he does set a good standard and is expected to be right around the mark.

Good luck and happy punting.
