Roy Hodgson will continue in his role as Crystal Palace manager next season, according to the BBC.
The 75-year-old returned to Selhurst Park in March, replacing Patrick Vieira on a deal until the end of the season.
Hodgson guided Palace to the dizzy heights of 11th place in the Premier League after Vieira had failed to win a game in 2023.
Vieira joined Palace in 2021 and guided the club to a 12th-placed finish in 2021/22. Palace were in 12th spot when Vieira was axed, but were just three points above the relegation zone. And in the defeats to Manchester City and Aston Villa and a 0-0 draw against Liverpool, Palace failed to muster a shot on target, the first time a Premier League side had managed the three-game feat since the records began in 2003.
Hodgson is currently on holiday but is expected to sign a new deal for the 2023/24 season on his return.
The former Inter Milan coach will continue in being the oldest ever Premier League boss, but Palace officials were sufficiently impressed with his 18 points from 10 games in charge to invite hm back for another season.
Hodgson spent four years with Palace from 2017 but decided to step away from football in the summer of 2021.
His career has spanned more than 45 years and includes stints at Blackburn, Fulham, Liverpool and West Brom, while he has also led the national sides of Switzerland, United Arab Emirates and Finland.
