Food poisoning fails to halt Eagle Kerr

Eagles AFL veteran Daniel Kerr is back at training after overcoming a bout of food poisoning, but Matt Priddis is still recovering from a head knock.

West Coast midfielder Daniel Kerr is back to normal after overcoming a worrying case of food poisoning, but fellow on-baller Matt Priddis remains in doubt for Sunday's AFL clash with St Kilda at Patersons Stadium.

Kerr's eyes almost closed over and his face was left heavily swollen after suffering an adverse reaction to a meal on Monday, with teammate Nic Naitanui posting a graphic picture of Kerr's plight on twitter.

Eagles' coach John Worsfold was unsure what food caused the allergic reaction, but said West Coast's medical staff treated the problem and Kerr had since made a full recovery.

Kerr joined his teammates at training on Wednesday and showed no outward signs of the recent trauma.

"He needed some medical treatment - some antihistamines are the normal sort of thing," Worsfold said on Wednesday.

"If there were any residual effects, then he wouldn't be training today, but he's back bouncing around and ready to go, having a laugh.

"He's 100 per cent."

But while Kerr is a certain starter against the Saints, Priddis failed to train on Wednesday and will have to pass a fitness and concussion test later in the week.

Priddis was left concussed last Saturday after his head hit the Etihad Stadium turf following a strong tackle from Essendon's Nathan Lovett-Murray.

But in better news for the Eagles, ruckman Naitanui (hamstring) and defender Ash Smith (ankle) are almost certain to return from injury, while Adam Selwood (hand) is a chance to join them.

Will Schofield has served his two-match suspension and will also slot back into the line-up which copped a 61-point hiding at the hands of Essendon last week.

"I don't think there's any psychological damage, other than the more you win, the more disappointed you get when you lose," Worsfold said of last week's heavy loss.
