Snowden unleashes Gilgai Triple Threat

Peter Snowden will unleash a team of three runners to take on a competitive field in the Group 2 Gilgai Stakes at Flemington this Saturday.

Sessions winning The Shorts

Among the likely starters is up and coming sprinter Sessions, who will go into the race on the back of a last start win in the Group 2 Shorts at Randwick.

Sessions, who is yet to miss the placings from eight career starts, winning five of them will step out for the first time in Melbourne to tackle the famous Flemington 'straight six' and looks likely to be the early favourite.

Sessions will be joined by stablemate Galah who resumes from a spell, having run fourth behind Hallowell Belle when first up in the same race last year.

Galah was last seen when winning the Group 2 Magic Millions QTC Cup at Eagle Farm in June and trialled well enough when third leading into this.

Group 3 winner Albrecht returned in very good order to finish third in the Group 3 Bobbie Lewis last start, beating home Rebel Dane who has since gone on to win the Group 1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes.

The 2012 Golden Rose Second placegetter rounds out the stable runners for the race with all three likely to be in the mix.

Snowden's only success in the race has come with El Cambio who took out the 2008 renewal when beating home Swick.
