Shoot Out To Trial At Randwick

Shoot Out will have his final trial at Randwick tomorrow before resuming in the Group 2 Apollo Stakes at Warwick Farm on February 23.

The Chris Waller-trained gelding is down to contest a 1000m Open Trial on the course proper at Randwick tomorrow scheduled for 8.15am.

Arguably the strongest heat of the morning, it contains a host of stakes performed runners such as Colorado Claire, Hallowell Belle and Upon This Rock.

Shoot Out has trialled once already this preparation when sixth at Randwick over 1050m behind Steps In Time.

Tuesday's trial outing will be his final before a first up run in the Group 2 Apollo Stakes (1400m) at Warwick Farm on February 23.

The six-year-olds ultimate goal this campaign is the Group 1 George Ryder Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill on April 6.

Gai Waterhouse in Heat 2 will saddle up a few promising colts spearheaded by Group 1 runner up Proisir.

Stakes placegetter Indianapolis and Saturday metropolitan winner De Shamekh are also down to contest the same heat.

The last of three heats to be conducted on the course proper will be over 800m featuring the likes of Group 1 winning mares Appearance and [/n]Mid Summer Music[/n].

In heats conducted on the Kensington track, Gold Coast Magic Millions 2YO Classic (1200m) runner up Sweet Idea trials over 740m as she is readied for a Golden Slipper tilt.
