Karuta Queen has recovered from a knee injury and will return to racing early next year under the tutelage of powerful Melbourne trainer Peter Moody.
The ex-Queanbeyan flyer was sold as a broodmare to John Singleton back in June, and the advertising tycoon has decided to give her at least one more racing preparation before going to stud.
Moody is likely to target the Group 3 Rubiton Stakes (1100m) at Caulfield with the four-year-old before going into the Group 1 Oakleigh Plate (1100m).
Karuta Queen resumed in the Rubiton this year but could only manage fourth after being disturbed pre-race by barrier rogue Here De Angels.
She then returned to Sydney and failed twice before former trainer Neville Layt discovered arthritis in her left knee.
The daughter of Not A Single Doubt won last year's Magic Millions and went on to run ninth in Sepoy's Golden Slipper.
She also ran a gallant second behind new stablemate Black Caviar in the Schillaci Stakes (1000m).
