Nextanix Out Of Spring

Promising Wollongong stayer Nextanix has been ruled out of the spring with a tendon injury.

Trainer Kerry Parker discovered the problem yesterday in time to scratch him from Saturday's Group 3 Kingston Town Stakes (2000m) at Rosehill.

Parker was hopeful another strong performance this weekend from his five-year-old could lay the platform for a spring cups campaign.

“You just get him up and rolling, and then something like this happens - I was really looking forward to this preparation,” Parker told the Illawarra Mercury.

“I haven't had a tendon injury for years. It's not a good time at all.

“At this stage we'll let it settle down and then scan it in a month or so.

“We won't make any more plans. Whatever the horse needs, we'll do.”

Nextanix ran second behind Kontiki Park resuming last month before running fifth in the listed

Premier's Cup, won by Glencadam Gold at Rosehill two weeks back.

He had been nominated for the Melbourne and Caulfield Cups, the Cox Plate, the Epsom Handicap and The Metropolitan.
