Dale Switches Destiny To Sydney

Canberra based trainer Matt Dale has opted to scratch Sydney's Destiny from Canterbury tomorrow night for a tilt at Saturday's $100,000 Listed Aspiration Quality at Randwick.

It will be a sizeable jump in grade for the four-year-old who raced last start in a mid-week metropolitan meeting at Sandown, finishing as a comfortably beaten runner-up in a Restricted 72 Handicap.

Despite the jump in class, TAB Sportsbet fixed odds have quoted Sydney's Destiny at a respectable $11 to win Saturday's $100,000 fillies and mares event.

“You never know until you test them, but she's a mare in good form and she has handled everything that we have thrown at her so far,” Dale said.

“We'll get a good guide in that race as to where she's at.”

The Dubai Destination mare has rolled on well from a strong debut campaign, winning three races and finishing second once across four starts this preparation.

Although the mare is yet to win over the mile, Dale said her last start performance over the 1600-metres suggests she will have no issues running out the Randwick mile.

Craig Williams has once again been engaged to ride the four-year-old and will have his work cut out for him starting from the wide alley.

“Craig's done his form and he's ridden the mare in her last two starts and knows her quite well,” said Dale.

“We'll come up with a plan and try to get her somewhere just off the speed and see how she goes from there.”

The Guy Walter trained four-year-old mare Brightest has been quoted as the $5.50 favourite with TAB Sportsbet Fixed Odds.
