Successful Sprinting Mare Put Down

Top sprinting mare Warm Love who was trained by David Brideoake at Mornington, was put down over the weekend after contracting a rare disease.

The four-year-old last raced at Flemington in July when beating Definitely Ready in an open handicap after running third behind Secret Flyer in the listed Monash Stakes.

The daughter of Octagonal initially suffered from an abscess to her heart which unfortunately developed into pneumonia.

Warm Love was purchased for the bargain price of $9,000 and subsequently went on make $353,668 with a record of six wins and five placing's from just 14 starts.

Brideoake was unable to find anyone to race the horse as a yearling so the filly was raced by the trainer and his family.
