Anacheeva had been paid up as a first acceptor for the $2.5million Group 1 BMW Caulfield Cup (2400m) on Tuesday morning and held a nomination for Saturday's Group 2 Dato Tan Chin Nam Stakes (1600m) at Moonee Valley. However, Moody decided to retire the well-bred entire without further racing.

After a stellar spring that had three black type wins in succession culminating in the Caulfield Guineas Anacheeva was not able to replicate that form in the autumn with a third place in the Group 1 AJC Derby over 2400m at Randwick his best result.

He recommenced with an unplaced run in the Group 2 Memsie Stakes over 1400m at Caulfield on August 24th won by stablemate King's Rose and that was his final race start.

Anacheeva, out of the Zabeel mare Monroe Magic, is a half-brother to AJC Derby winner Headturner and stakes winner Kroner. He retires after racing 12 times for four wins and a second with stakes for owners, the Rockmount Syndicate managed by G Guest, J Kewish and D Murphy, of $959,525.

Another near million dollar stakes earner Vigor (NZ) has also been retired after a growth was found in the seven-year-olds throat.

Trained by Danny O'Brien at Flemington Vigor won the 2009 Group 2 Makybe Diva Stakes over 1600m at Flemington and placed third in the race in 2010. He was third in the 2009 Group 1 Caulfield Cup over 2400m.

Vigor was unplaced in the listed Slickpic Stakes over 1100m at Caulfield on August 27th. By O'Reilly out of the Housebuster mare Rationable he raced 28 times for eight wins and seven placings and stakes of $927,455 for owners T H Rourke, A C Lennen, R C Salter, A M Lamshed, T C Wallace, S R Doyle and Titan Thoroughbreds Syndicate managed by J Mathie.
