MARKET MOVES ROYAL ASCOT DAY TWO - 2011

Let's look at the major market moves for Day Two at Royal Ascot.

TAB Markets for Royal Ascot

We'll give you a bit of run down as to who is being backed at the time of publication with the TAB.

DAY TWO – 15 JUNE 2011

Day One Betting Highlights were the big go on Prohibit in the King's Stand and the money held on Frankel, shortening him up to near 5s on.

Race 1: The Jersey Stks (G3)

('10 winner Rainfall 8-1)

It seems a very even and open Jersey with Codemaster, by Choisir, a recent 2L Listed winner and he is $3.80. Not far away in betting is Fury ($4.60). He was 5th in 2000 Guineas but like everything else was beaten panels by Frankel. Maybe the interesting runner is the French 3yo Havane Smoker ($5). The Dubawi colt was second in the French 2000 Guineas but is yet to win a race.

Race 2: The Windsor Forest Stks (G2)

('10 winner Strawberrydaiquiri 9-2)

Godolphin's mare Sajjhaa was good in the Middleton behind Midday and must be a show at the $4.40 quote. Close up in the market is Seta ($5). Luca Cumani's steed scored a top win in a Listed race at Goodwood and is very strong. Another one with a show is I'm A Dreamer ($5). She could hardly have been more impressive at Newmarket during the Guineas festival.

Race 3: The Prince of Wales's Stks (G1)

('10 winner Byword 5-2f)

Not much we need to say here about So You Think. We know he's a champ, and we hope the world sees him as a champ should he win such a prestigious race. He is currently $1.30 but that might shorten up even further. A big win cements his place in both Royal Ascot but also Australian racing history. The only real danger according to the betting is Planteur. The French horse won a G1 at his last start at Longchamp and was right in the market in Workforce's Arc. He's $5 on the TAB.

1.25am AEST

Race 4: The Royal Hunt Cup (Heritage Hcp)

('10 winner Invisible Man 28-1)

Nothing unusual about the Royal Hunt Cup being a lottery. At the moment few are under double figures. Start Right ($7) goes for Luca and he loves a good handicap. He went well in the Investec Mile at Epsom charging late. Also consider Point North (into $8.50) from the Noseda yard who has strong form at Kempton but will need to translate that to the Ascot turf. Value everywhere.

2.00am AEST

Race 5: The Queen Mary Stks (G2)

('10 winner Maqaasid 9-4f)

This might be the other shortie of the day when Shumoos goes around at $2.10. She was very impressive in a maiden at Haydock and the form has stood up already. Strength on the line will be important. Basically the only other horse given a show on the markets is Gypsy Robin. At $7.50 this American runner will be trying to emulate its stable mate from a couple of years back.

Race 6: The Sandringham Stks (Listed - Hcp)

('10 winner Timepiece 5-1)

Probably four in the betting in the last. Dubai Queen ($4.40), Humdrum ($5) from the Hannon team after his winning Day One, Winter's Night ($6) with good form at this venue and finally Rhythm Of Light ($9) who has been right there last two runs.
