Race 3: Spirit Of Camelot

Disappointing punters first-up when left flat-footed over a sprinting trip, Spirit Of Camelot bounced back sharply on Saturday.

Impressing in her debut campaign when an unlucky third in the Listed H C Nitschke Stakes back in April, the three-year-old filly relished making a return to the 1400m second-up, putting 2.6L to her nearest rival.

Hammered late in betting, the Michael Hickmott-trained filly gave them a galloping lesson with the gap widening the further they went. Suggest she will appreciate stepping out to the mile in proceeding runs, and possibly even further.

Ratings suggest she's got a fair bit up her sleeve and she will be winning again soon.
