Courte Zarindi wins 2018 Nzb Airfreight Stakes Listed NZ$50,000 at Wingatui (NZ), 1400m.
Leading into this with a strong finishing third in the Listed Southland Guineas (1600m) Courte Zarindi got away well but was outpaced soon after to settle fifth (rails) where she remained to the 1000m.
Apprentice rider Tina Comignaghi held the filly against the fence rounding into the straight looking for run which did not take place until the 150m where she finally saw daylight and flew between the leaders to win going away, her third win (maiden stakes) in 11 starts.
Excelleration turned in four wide but took an age to challenge then was bumped yet rallied to run home a good second.
Pipiana led half way down the straight and when passed held on quite well for third from Kiwi Ida who had every chance but was headed at the 100m, fading to fourth.
