Pinch River was one of the first away and put a length and a half on them past the 800m before easing to lead by a half length approaching the last corner. Jockey Ron Stewart held him together into the straight and waited for the challenges, which took place from the 200m.
Several slaps down the shoulder were sufficient to see it out and he won nicely, his eighth (second black-type win) in 20 starts.
All Over Bosanova tracked the winner into the straight then stuck to the rails, running on to get within a half length at the wire.
Havasay was second last at the top of the straight, pulled out into the center of the track and rattled home very strongly to nab third just short of the line. Fourth in, Colinelle, looked to hold third but was swamped late.
