Invincible Star wins 2017 Thoroughbred Club Stakes Group 3 $150,000 at Caulfield (VIC), 1200m.
Invincible Star slayed them with too much pace despite drawing wide for an excellent, all-the-way win here, her second in four starts.
She cruised over to the fence from barrier 15 to lead soon after the start and looked very comfortable to the home straight where she broke away and left them to it, racing away by a widening four lengths at the wire.
Counterplay was mid-field approaching the last corner, straightened five wide and ran on well for a best-of-the-rest distant second from Jorda who had a nice trail in third (rails) to the home straight then ran on fairly for third. Split Lip was handy enough turning in and had every chance for fourth.
