Ataraxia wins 2017 Dulcify Qlty Listed $125,000 at Randwick (NSW), 1600m.
Godolphin-raced colt Ataraxia put up a promising effort in taking out this Listed event, his second win in six starts to date. He enjoyed a good trip in third place on the rails from his inside barrier (1) before getting into clear running on straightening. He got to the front at the 100m and then battled on strongly for a good win.
Team Hawkestrained Dissolution travelled nicely in sixth place on the rails, switched deep on turning for home, challenged at the 100m and fought well for a very good second in a really promising effort from a colt who is still a maiden after six starts.
Sambro raced outside the leader (Chosen Assassin), going at a strong tempo (first 1000m in 59.83) before taking the lead shortly after turning for home. He then battled on well for a close up third after working at a good tempo in the earlier part of the race.
