The Lindsay Park-trained mare Hell Or Highwater took her record to eight wins from 23 starts in taking out her third successive win here, her first at stakes level. She began well from a wide barrier (14) and settled nicely outside the leader (Assign). She took the lead rounding the home turn and then held on to win decisively in a smart performance.
Guardini raced in seventh place, on the rails, switched deeper at the home turn, went to second at the 150m and then fought well to hold that position without threatening the winner, whom he conceded 5kg.
