Dee I Cee wins 2017 Premier’s Cup Listed $125,000 at Rosehill (NSW), 1900m.
The Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained gelding Dee I Cee was a surprise $41 winner. Having his second run this preparation, he was third early on before settling back in sixth place (on the rails) behind a solid pace. He switched out rounding the home turn, got to the front at the 100m then went on to score decisively in a good staying effort, and in smart time.
The favourite Classic Uniform went to the front, ran along at a good tempo (with Broadside at his girth), held a good break at the 300m, before tiring in the latter stages for second after running a bold race.
Centre Pivot raced in second last place in the eight-horse field and made good ground to take the minor placing.
