Morphettville Races Review - 24th June 2017

Morphettville trainer Jim Smith landed his first winner in many months when his charge Midnight Storm took out the 1000 metre opening race at Morphettville on Saturday.

Ridden by apprentice Raquel Clark Midnight Storm was in the leading division throughout the event.

Giving apprentice Raquel her third straight win Strategic Demand came from last with a withering run in the straight to bring up its seventh win from twenty- three starts.

Giving the Macdonald Gluyas training combination an unsaleable lead in the city trainers’ premiership their charge Galaxy Gazer came from a midfield position to take the event.

Jamie Kah bought up her thirty-third winner for the metropolitan season when she guided Cashed to victory in the 1050 metre fifth race.

Being under the care of Ryan Balfour and having his second race after a spell Cashed came from last to take the event.

Social Set proved winning form is good form when he brought up his second win in four days in the 1800 metre sixth race.

Being under the care of co-trainers Nicky O’Shea and Ashton Downing, Social Set gradually improved from a rearward position to win.

Prepared at Angaston by Tony McEvoy, I’ll Decide came from a rearward position with a strong run over the concluding stages of the event.

After showing form in four of its previous five starts the Trevor Dansie and Natasha Storr trained Idatwo broke through for a win in the 1100 metre final event.

Piloted by Simon Price Idatwo was well back before finishing the race off with a late charge to the lead.
