Egyptian Symbol wins 2016 Nivison Stakes Group 3 $150,000 at Randwick (NSW) 4yo+Mares, 1200m.
After five stakes placings, Egyptian Symbol scored her first stakes victory here. Drawn nine of 12, she got away quite well but had no cover early and rider Jason Collett had little option but to park outside the leader (Magic Alibi), where she remained until the field straightened for the run in. Collett sat still although the mare took over at the 300m but at the 200m Collett let her go and she scored comfortably.
Artistry settled midfield (wide) then moved up to track the winner around the bend and into the straight, levelled up at the 300m but was out-sprinted yet held second well.
Rule The River had the perfect run in behind the pace to the turn, shot through on the rail and finished best of the rest for third.
