Khan wins 2016 Newgate Breeders’ Plate Listed $150,000 at Randwick (NSW) 2yoColts & Geldings, 1000m
The Peter and Paul Snowden-trained colt Khan created a very good impression in winning here. He settled in fifth place on the rails from his inside barrier (1) and was still conceding the leader a significant distance when he got into the clear at the 200m. He then came with a strong finishing run to win quite impressively.
Condor Heroes showed good pace from his wide barrier (9) to lead. He looked the winner when he dashed clear nearing the 300m but was overtaken in the closing stages for a sound second, just finding the winner too good.
Bowerman settled in fifth place, on the rails, from his good barrier (2). He got through to second at the 200m and then battled on nicely for third.
