Flamboyer wins 2016 Hmr Projects Glasshouse Hcp Listed $175,000 at Sunshine Coast (QLD), 1400m.
Gold Coast-trained gelding Flamboyer followed his easy win in a Class Six Handicap (1400m) at Eagle Farm on 25 June with a very good win, advancing to Listed class here. He worked a bit before going to the front nearing the 800m and then settled well, steadying the pace before dashing clear on turning for home. He was not threatened from that point and went on to win comfortably.
Saluter led in the early stages and then eased to race in second place. He continued to battle well in the straight, holding that position, without troubling the winner.
Stratum Star was handy early on, but was caught three wide, without cover when the pace slackened. He improved (deep) from the 700m, was still back in fifth place at the home turn and steadily made ground under his top weight (61kg) for a very good third.
Steel Zip was back in ninth place and made ground to take (3.4 lengths) fourth.
