Magnifisio wins 2016 Sheila Gwynne Classic Listed $100,000 at Ascot (WA) 3yo+Fillies & Mares, 1400m.
Magnifisio was smartly away and enjoyed a good trip, being a handy third on nearing the home turn. She moved up well on turning for home, got to the front on passing the 100m and then went on to score nicely.
Zonte went to the front, steadied the pace (first 800m 50.24) and then fought back well when challenged on straightening for second.
Wink And A Nod was back in seventh place, one off the rails. She improved (wide) rounding the home turn and kept making ground in the sprint home for a good third, being disadvantaged by the lack of early pace.
