Dreamtime Dancer wins 2016 Schweppes-Ascot 1000 Guineas Listed $100,000 at Ascot (WA) 3yoFillies, 1800m.
Dreamtime Dancer repelled the four-strong Bob Peters team with a strong on-pace victory. Used up from her wide barrier (10) to take the lead before having a mid race breather. Pushed along turning for home she quickened up at the top of the straight and then gamely held of the late challenge of Arcadia Dream on her outside to score a more determined victory.
Arcadia Dream settled down in fifth position one out and one back. She over raced a little in the middle stages of the race before making her move three wide from the 600m to then challenge for the lead on turning for home. He battled strongly under hard riding but could not get past the leader who kept fighting back strongly.
