The well-supported Sundance scored an impressive win. He was smartly away from his inside barrier (1) and went immediately to the front. He then steadied the mid-race tempo, picked up the pace nearing the home turn, dashed clear on straightening and raced away to win easily, relishing the Soft7 going in a very smart performance.
Par Oneri raced outside the leader to the home turn and kept battling on well in the straight to hold second, without having any chance with the winner.
Sidereus Attacks was back in fifth place on the rails, got to a distant third at the 200m and battled on to hold the minor placing.
Favourite Punishing went back from his outside barrier (12) and settled near last and wide. He made a very wide move rounding the home turn but failed to make any significant ground in the to finish (13 lengths) eighth.
